Surfing the internets, there's a really interesting TT gauge brand from Germany called Auhagen. Most of their models are too European to fit into a New Zealand scene, but a lot of the accessories are great - e.g. the tanks pictured above could be made to look like the fuel tanks at Middleton. Will need to save some coin...
